Docket Nos. 70-2940 and 70-2901 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2&3 Southern California Edisoa Company, San Diego Gas and Electric Company, City of Anaheim, California and City of Riverside, California herewith submit an application for Amendment No. 2 to NRC Materials License Nos. SNM-1879 and SNM-1852, issued May 21, 1981, for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating 5tation, Units 283. This application ft. amendment is to
- 1) rescind and supersede the application for Anendment No. 1 to the NRC Materials Licenses submitted to the NRC by letter dated July 17, 1981 and to provide for use of a continuous fire watch in the fuel handling building until the fire detection devices are installed, and 2) add the cities of Riverside, California and Anaheim, California as co-holders of these licenses. Nine copies of the application for Amendment No. 2 to the licenses are enclosed for your review and approval.
The special nuclear materials addressed in these special nuclear materials licenses are designated for future inclusion in the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Units 283 Operating License for which an j
application was filed March 21, 1977.

Also enclosed is a signed copy of Amendment 14 to indemnity agreement No. B-31 as requested in your letter dated riay 21, 1981.
