Mr. Curland attended Texas A & M and earned a B.S. degree with Distinction in Mechanical Engineering frm the University of Connecticut. He cmpleted graduate level courses in Nuclear Engineering, Mathematics, and Management. He is a Registered Professional Engineer; a Certified Quality Engineer; a senior member of the Americar.
Socieyt for Quality Control; a menber of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and American Society for Nondestructive Testing.
Work History:
Mr. Curland brings over 30 years of business and industrial experience to Project Assistance Corporation.
Prior to 1951 he was engaged primarily as a fuels engineer in international marketing and transportation of coals and coke.
From 1951 through 1973, Mr. Curland successfully conpleted a broad spectrum of tech-nical, administrative and management assignments in the business of designing and constructing nuclear powered submarines. Starting as a Junior Engineer in the Electrical Design Department of General Dynamics / Electric Boat Division, his path of increasing responsibility included Supervisor of Nuclear Project Control, chief reactor plant test engineer, nuclear project manager, nuclear quality manager, Director of Management Engineering, Deputy Director of Operations, and Trident prototype site Program Manager.
In 1974, Mr. Curland was called on to make yet another breakthrough in management of a high technology area. Pronoted to the General Dynamics Corporate Office, he developed the first evaluation and analysis techniques for measuring the performance of their Data System.
Since 1974 he has provided Quality Assurance and Management Consulting Services to industry with a primary focus in the electric power generation area.
Typical significant acconplishments in Mr. Curland's career to date are:
-Developed and conducted Quality Engineering training courses at the University of Sae Paula, Brazil and in the USA.
-Developed and inplemented quality and output performance indicators for a net-Wors of data system service centers.
-Developed the shipbuilder's power plant test program and procedures for the first nuclear submarine and subsequent S5W reactor plant equipped ships.
-Established and directed the inplementation of a shipbuilders total quality assurance program for procurement, construction and test of 20 nuclear plants.
