Dear Mr. Lundvall:
EConner Gray Files By letters dated May 29 and June ll, 1981, you provided a reanalysis of the CEA Ejection Event and an analysis of a Core Misloading Event, respec-tively. Both of thesa analyses were performed as a result of an agreement between our represent.ative staffs as documented by core reload amendments dated December 12, 1980 and February 10, 1981.
The purpose of the CEA ejection event reanalysis was to calculate the number of fuel rods predicted to experience DNB during the event, to show that the radiological consequences are within the guidelines of 10 CFR 100, and to demonstrate that the RCS upset pressure limit of 2750 psia is not exceeded. Based on our review, we find this reanalysis acceptable for Unit 1. Cycle 5 and Unit 2, Cycle 4.
The purpose of the fuel misloading analysis was to evaluate all significant misorientations of a fuel assembly or interchange of two fuel asr.Mies and show that the misloading was either detectable during low power physics testing or that it was of no significant sonsequence. We have received this analysis and find it acceptable for Unit 1, Cycle 5 and Unit 2 Cycle A.
Therefore, the above mentioned analyses are satisfactorily resolved for Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units No.1 and 2.
Sincerely.
