V. Crienjak on May 20, 1981 in accordance with 10 CFR 0.55(e) as NCR's 1?62 and 1450 Enclosed is our first interim report.

O ENCLOSURE.
BELLEFONTE NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 LOOSE MATERIALS FOUND IN SOLID-STATE CONTROL SYSTEM CABINETS BLRD-50-438/81-39, BLRD-50-439/81-42 FIRST INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency The mounting studs for female connections in Consolidated Controls Corporation (CCC) cabinet (2IX-IS-003-B) worked loose and fell behind the connector piste (nonconformance report 1459).
In.other cabinets, miscellaneous metal material and foreign matter were found behind connector mounting plates (nonconformance report 1362).
Interim Progress The vendo= (CCC) was notified of NCR 1362 and provided a field change procedure (KBB 7136) to eliminate the problems identified. CCC shall provide all materials and labor to accomplish the cleanup of the cabinets.
The vendor (CCC) is being notified of NCR 1459 Inspeccion ';111 be made of all cabinets to ascertain the extent of such problems, and a locking compound will be placed on the mounting nuts and the studs tightened or replaced.
TVA will m'onitor the vendor's quality assurance program closely.
