D ENCLOSURE BELLEFCNTE NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 2 CORROSION OF DIESEL GENERATOR CONTROL PANEL BLRD-50-439/81-28 SECOND INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency One of the Bellefonte diesel generator's control panels was improperly stored. As a result, the ferrous metal parts of the subcomponent y voltage regulation panel have oxidised to the extent that the component is not capable of performing the function for which it was intended. In addition, corrosion of other components in the control panel, plates, nuts, and bolts, etc., of the diesel have rendered it inoperable in its present condition.

' Interim Progress TVA has determined that the diesel's damaged voltage regulation panel must be repaired and recalibrated by the vendor (Transamerica Delaval). TVA has contacted the vendor, and the vendor has agreed to perform the repairs.

Accordingly, TVA is in the process of shipping the subject panel to the vendor.
