This refers to the routine inspection conducted by W. F. Sanders of this office

on March 31 - April 3,1981 at TMI Unit 2 site of activit es authorized by NRC

License No. OPR 73 and to the discussions of our findings held by W. F. Sanders

and A. A. Varela with L. King and G. Skillman of your staff at the conclusion of

the inspection, and to a subsequent telephone discussion between G. Hovey, G.

Skillman, K. Neuman, J. Devine and T. T. Martin, R. Conti, A. Fasano, and A.

Varela on April 10, 1981.

Areas examired during this inspection are described in the.0ffice of Inspection

and Enforcement Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within

these areas, v a inspection consisted ef selective examinations of procedures

and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the

inspector.

Within the scope of this inspection, no items of noncompliance were observed.

In tecordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title

10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this later and the en.:losed inspection

report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.

necessary that you make a written application within 20 days to this office to

withhold such information from public disclosure. Any such application must ce

accompanied by an affidavit executed by the owner of the infornation, which

considered by the Commission as listed in subparagraph (b) (4) of Section 2.790.
