This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by
Messrs. E. R. Schweibinz, J.
J.' Harrison, C. C. Williams and W. S. Little
of this office and Mr. H. J. Wong of our' IE Headquarters office, on
February 9-10, 1981, and by Messrs. F. C. Hawkins and C. C. Williams
on May 7,1981,of activities at Marble Hill Nuclear Generating Station,
Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC .onstruction Permits No. CPPR-170 and
No. CPPR-171 and to the discuss 6.t of our findings with you and others

of your staff.at the conclusion of the inspection.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined
during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted
of a selective. examination of procedures and representative records,
observations, and interviews with personnel.
No items of noncompliance with NRC requirements were identified during
the course of th * s inspection.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Co'de of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the en-
closed inspection report will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Roosi,
except as follows.
