St. Petersburg, Florida 33733 Gentlemen:

This letter is to confim telephone calls from my office to your office (Messrs. Larry Hill, and Ken Wilson and Ms. Pearce) between April 24,1981 and May 21,1981, in which Mrs. Reba M. Diggs of my staff informed your staff that we had not received 4 response to our January 30, 1981 letter.

This letter requested fees pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22 for your December 3 and 19, 1980 applications for approvals relating to Crystal River Unit No. 3.

During these conversations, we were infomed that a letter dated April 10,1981, had been sent to our office which was in response to our January 30, February 12 and March 24, 1981 letters. On May 14 we infomed your office that we had not received the April 10 letter and enclosed check. On May 21 we asked that a copy of this letter be resent to us and that we be advised of the check amount and number. At this time, we also suggested that your company consider having payment stopped on the check.

On June 1 we received a May 22 note from Mr. Wilson which transmitted a copy of the April 10 letter and informed us that the check was number 441554 for $5,600. We were also informed that the check had not been l

cashed as of May 22. We have had the USNRC records rechecked, but they l

did not reflect that the letter and check were received.

It is hoped that your company did stop payment on this check and that you will remit another check to us.

If there is some subsequent development regarding Check No. 441554, we will notify your office.

The exceptions taken by your company to the fees requested in our letters of January 30 and February 12 will be addressed in a subsequent letter.

Sincerely.
