APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Philadelphia Electric Company Docket No. 50-277 Peach Bottom Unit 2 License No. DPR-44 As a result of the inspection conducted on January l ~- 31, 1981, and in accordance with the Interim Enforcement Policy, 45 FR 66754 (October 7, 1980),
.the following Violation was identified:
Technical Specification 2.1.A.1 states, in part:
"When the mode switch is in the RUN position, the APRM flux scram trip setting shall be:

In the event of operation with a maximum fraction of limiting power density (MFLPD) greater than the fraction of rated power (FRP), the setting shall be modified as follows:

MFCPD Contrary to the above, from 0025 to 0635 on January 3,1981 the reactor was operated in the RUN mode with MFLPD greater than than FRP without modification of scram settings. As a result, actual setpoints were greater than (0.66W + 54%) (FRP).
MFLPD This is a Severity Level IV Violation (Supplement I) applicable to DPR-44.
Pursuant to the provisions of 10 CFR 2.201, Philadelphia Electric Company is hereby required to submit to this office within twenty-five days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) the corrective steps which have been taken and ' he results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid farther violations; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.
