Gentlemen:
In a letter dated i4 arch 17,1981, we informed your Company that an additional sum of $8,300 was due for your September 16, 1980 application (Proposed Change 170) relating to Lessons Learned Technical Specifications for Yankee-Rowe. On April 2,1981 the Division of Licensing (DL) staff completed their review of this application as reflected in the issuance of Amendment No. 65 to License No. DPR-3.
The DL staff have also completed a reassessment of their previous fee determi-I nation for the September 16 application. Based on their review, it has now been determined that a Class III fee is applicable for this application in lieu of the Class IV fee previously determined. This is considered an interim fee position in that an overall review of the fee positions for applicatimts relating to the TMI-2 Lessons Learned Technical Specifications is undergoing i
scrutiny within the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. If this review reveals that the DL staff's Class III fee is not correct, your Company will be notified and an adjustment will be made.
In the meantime, your Company should l
not remit the additional $8,300 requested in our letter dated March 17, 1981.
