AND IOWA-ILLINOIS GAS ANi) ELECTRIC COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS TO FACILITY OPERATING L.CEN5ES The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued Amendment Nos. 67 and 61 to Facility Operating Licensa No. DPR-29 and DPR-30 issued to Comonwealth Edison Company and Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company,Mich revised the Technical Specifications for operation of the Quad Cities Nuclear j
Power Station, Unit Nos.1 and 2, located in Rock Island County, Illinois.
l The amendments become effective as of the date of issuance.
The ame'ndments revise the Technical Specifications to eliminate the 1
requirement to reduce reactor power to below 50% rated when the main steam isolation valve closure time verification is performed.
The application for the amendments complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations.
The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendments. Prior public notice of these amendments was not required since the amendments do not involve a significant hazards consideration.
The Commission has detemined that the issuance of these amendments will not result in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to 10 CFR Sec' tion 51.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement, negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of these amendments.
