O APPENDIX B NOTICE OF DEVIATION Sacramento Municipal Utility District Docket No. 50-312 As a result of the inspection conducted on January 12-15, 1981, the following deviation from your commitments to the Commission was identified:
Section 5.1.6.2 of ANSI standarc N18.7-1972, " Administrative Controls for i
Nuclear Power Plants," to which you are comitted by letter dated September 23, 1976 states, in part:
"A preventive maintenance schedule should be established and maintclned which describes the frequency and type of maintenance to be performed."
Contrary to the above, in the area of preventive maintenance the schedule was not being maintained in that approximately 100% of the safety related mechanical items and 20% of the safety related electrical items listed for maintenance during January 1981 were overdue by 30 days or more.
Further, there were no written procedures for conducting the specified preventive maintenance on mechanical components.
This is a Deviation.
The Sacramento Municipal Utility District is requested to submit to this office within twenty-five days of the date of this Notice, a written statement or explanation in reply, including:
(1) the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further deviations; and (3) the date when full conformance will be achieved.
