Operability Assurance
Dear Mr. Denton:
The fop 7ving information is provided at the request of the Equipment Qualification Branch regarding operability assurance of the 6" purge isolation valves. Branch Technical Position CSB 6-4 references Branch Technical Position
}EB 3-2 to address the requirements for operability assurance of valves. The operability assurance program for qualification of the 6" purge isolation valves addresses all concerns of FEB 3-2. Specifically, these valves are active valves as shown in FSAR Table 3.9-8.
The valves and operators were qualified by analy-sis. The limit switches and solenoid valves, which are appertenances, were qualified h/ testing. The qualification programs are described in FSAR Sections 3.9, 3.11 and 3A and have been completed.
