Dear Mr. Crouse:
g We'have reviewed your letters dated June 19, July 13 and August 8, 1979 and August 6,1980, on the subject of feedwater line cracking and our Bulletin 79-13 with respect to Davis-Besse 1.
Based on this review, we have concluded that it is highly unlikely that your facility will experience feedvater pipe cracks similar to those observed at other facilities. Therefore, the augmented inspec-tions as required under I&E Bulletin 79-13 and 79-13(2) may be dis-continued.
However, the elimination of the augmented inspection. pro-gram does not relieve you of the inspections required under the ASME Code Section XI for Class 2 components for the emergency feedwater system.
