1 Peach Bottcm Atomic Power Station Narrative ';umnary of Operating Experiences May 1981 UNIT 2 OPERATIONS The unit remains shutdown following failure of the 2B Recirculation Pump seals and motor bearings. The motor has been replaced and work is underway to remove a bend in the pump shaft.
During the month, annual inspections were performed on three of the four emergency diesel generators. The post-TMI
" Lessons Learned" items which were committed to be done by the first of July 1981 have been completed during this outage.
Headway was also gained on other " Lessons Learned" iterns due January 1, 1982.
UNIT 3 OPERATIONS The unit remains chutdown to acconimoda'te refueling, modifica-tions and maintenance work. The Suppression Pool modifications are approximately 60% complete. Control rod drfve changeout and LPRM replacement are conplete. The Feedwater nozale machining is essentially complete with fitup of the last two spargers remaining.

Replacement of the in-drywell Core Spray piping, removal of the Recirculation Pump discharge 4" bypass line and replacement of certain off-gas system piping continues.
Inspection of the HPCI system components subjected to water and oil insnersion in April is in progress.
