Narrative

Report for LER 50-366/1981-013 While operating at 77% power at 1230 1-24-81, Rod 22-15's HCU Accumulator

' low pressure alarm was received. The Accumulator was not returned to an operable status per Tech. Specs. 3.1.3.5.a.1.

Rod 22-15 was declared inoperable per Tech. Specs. 3.1.3.5.1.2 and Tech. Specs. 3.1.3.1.b.1 and 3 were complied with for Rod 22-15.

Red 22-15's Accumulator pressure was only reduced to approximately 900 psig.

Rod 22-15's Accumulator was not fully charged in the required time due to problems with the charging rig. When a suitable regulator was obtained, the rod's Accumulator was charged. The rod was returned to an operable status at 2323, 2-24-81.

Plans are being made by the Maintenance Department for a better charging station fe.' HCUs.
