[ We need action! There's a acasolscly (Florida Power Corp. ) cut of Federal. ccatrol here (Florida). t The Public Service Co-~4 asion, which has the task of regulating l power corporation mono 1Lolies, has done virtually norning to stop the rolling, growing snowball of electricity rates from arushing customers. My parents, who receive FPC electricity, are right in the niddle of this monolith's path. I dth't wish to see them crushed under its weight. They've done one hell of a job conserving energy and their reward has been' money taken from their pockets. FPC's custo=ers paid for the plant hy_ hawing their rates increased, now custo=ers have to pay for FPC' inco= potence. Customers did their part by supplying the necessary =eney to build a working nuclear plant. FFC thus acquired the responsibility of choosing a suitable design, selecting a competent construction co=pany and hiring rightly qualified personnel.to run the plant. But they refused then and they are still refusing now to accept responsib4T4 ty. The Crystal Pivar plant goes down often. Why? - Faulty design? Faulty construction? Faulty procedure? Take your choice because in the end the customer pays for events he/she is not responsible for. How much nore should FPC customers have to give of themselves just because a few ine3st executives didn't take the time or effort to make accurate plans? I know many laws and 2 egulations have been created to control monopo).isa (the Sherman Anti-Trust Act for cit.5ple ). Perhaps this one or others like it could be brought into action against FPC. Dammit--some-thing needs to be -done and I guarantee you that if you don't 10o14. into this =atter I'll keep writing to you and to anyone else who can read! vours Truly, N G10403 0% s .', ,. .
