Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Supplemental Investigation Service Water Pond West Embankment
Dear Mr. Denton:
South Carolina Electric and Gas Company, acting for itself and as agent for South Carolina Public Service Authority, submitted copies of a repor* entitled " Supplemental Investigation - Service Water Pond West Embankment." by letter dated March 6, 1981.
As noted in that letter, the long term soils (creep) tests. requested by the Staff are presently being performed with their results to be included in a subsequent report.
The final set of soils (creep) tests will begin next week with a required test duration of four (4) weekc.
Based on this schedule, it is anticipated that the final report on the supplemental investigation will be submitted by the end of April.
This final report should complete our response to SER Outstanding Issues 1.6.1 and 1.6.2.
