Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by our Resident Reactor Inscector,
Mr. A. B. Beach, on January 28, 1981, of activities authorized by NRC
Construction Permit No. CPPR-145 for River Bend, Unit No.1, and to the
discussion of our findings with Mr. T. C. Crouse and other members of your
staff at the cone.lusion of the inspection.
During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities were
not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements.
Consequently, you
are required to resperd to this matter, in writing, in accordance with the
provisions of Section 2.201 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations. Your response should be based on
the specifics contained in tha Notice of Violation attached to this letter.
Cetails of this item will be included in an inspection report to be issued
in the near future and identified as Inspection Report No. 50-458/81-01.
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased
to discuss them with you.
