Further Clarification of the Systematic Evaluation Program (SE?)
Dear Sir:
References (c) and (d) specify certain commitments discussed previously in meetings with tne SEP Owner's Group and representatives of the NRC SEP staff.
In a meeting held on February 19. 1981 further clarification of the Commission's intentions regarding the Systematic Evaluation Program were presented.
Inis letter is submitted to reconfirm cur intention to complete l
the Systematic Evaluation Program in an expeditious manner and consistent with l
tne clarification discussed in the February 19th meeting.
Specifically:
(1)
Yankee has reviewed its previous commitments against tnose suggestea cy NRC staff at the February 19. 1931 meetiag and concluded that it can support 15 items icentified in Table 1.
These topics all have complete SER's on another plant but are in.he very preliminar stages on Yankee (status 0, 1, 2 or 3).
l (2)
Yankee will support NRC's lead topic concept on two issues as modified at tne February 19, 1931 meeting:
II 4.E Dam Integrity IX-5 Ventilation Systems (3)
Iankee intends to re lew draft SER's issued by the sta ff on a timely basis (30 cuys whc possible).
1 Yankee would li._ co have more topics cceplete cy June but two refuelings i
scheduled in May preclude our ability te support additional topics at this time.
We trust that you fina tnis information satisfactory. However, if you have an'i questions, please contact us.
l Very truly yours, V";KEE ATOMIC ELECTRIC COMPANY J.
