R. Haard This refers to your reqaest dated March 12, 1962 for AEC authorization to make Proposed Change No. 20 in your facility pursuant to paragraph 3.A of License No. DPR-3, as anended.
We have reviewed the proposed change and have found that a change in the Technical Specifications attached as Appendix "A" to License No. DPR-3 in order to provide for installation of two valved and blanked-off connections in the safety injection system piping does not present significant hazards considerations not described or inplicit in the license application as amended to Jane 23, 1961, and that there is reasonable assurance that the health and safety of the public will not be endangered by operation of the facility as proposed. A copy of our related hazards analysis is enclosed.
In view of the foregoing, Yankee Atomic Electric Company is hereby authorized to install two valved and, blanked-off connections in the safety injection system piping as described in Yankee's letter dated March 12, 1962 entitled Proposed Change No. 20.
