  • 48624 ENGINEERING BLILDING September 22, 1980 Reactor Operations and Nuclear Support Branch U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137 Docket No. 50-294 ATTENTION: R. F. Heishman, Chief Reactor Operations and Nuclear Support Branch Gentlemen:

This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. K. R. Ridgeway on August 11-13, 1980. During this inspection two items of noncompliance were noted. Both items concerned time intervals between testing or surveillance procedures which exceeded the intervals prescribed in our Technical Specifications.

We cannot correct the specific incidents but we will try to avoid further noncompliance through increased administrative controls. The Reactor Safety Committee will audit the maintenance records to ensure that the testing and sur-veillance procedures are performed in a timely manner.

As always, yout comments and suggestions are welcomed.

Sir cgrely, [
