'N i' Q Attention:
Mr. R. A. Clark, Chief Operating Reactors Branch 3 Gentlemen:
DOCKET NO. 50-266 STEAM GENERATOR INSPECTIONS POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 1 This is to acknowledge your letter dated February 13, 1981, to us regarding the December 1980 Foint Beach Nuclear Plant Unit 1 steam generator tube inspection and our plans for subsequent tube inspections.
We are aware that portions of the Ccniirmatory Order for Modification of License dated November 30, 1979 remain in effect and concur with the specific provisions identified in your February 13 letter.
The next Point Beach Unit 1 steam generator inspection outage is tentatively scheduled for June 19, 1981.
We will at that time, as we have in the past, conduct both a 2,000 psi primary-to-secondary and an 800 psi secondary-to-primary hydro-static test.
Our discussion with your Staff on December 24,
. 1980 had presumed a support plate flow slat inspection during the next secondary side steam generator inspection.
This is still the case; however, during the June / July 1981 inspection, we would not conduct a se:ondary side steam generator opening just for the purpose of flow slot inspections since we have not detected flow slot distortion in previous inspections.
If the secondary side must be opened for any reason, we will, of course, consider a flow slot inspection at that time.
If the flow slot inspection is not done during the June / July outage, it will be scheduled for the fall 1981 outage.
