W ASm NGTON, D. C. 20555 s - >w,. ; 'y April 16, 1981 Docket No. 50-344 Mr. Bart D. W1thers.

Vice President Nuclear Portland General Electric Company 121 S.W. Salmon Street Portland. Oregon 97204

Dear Mr. Withers:

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 58 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-1 for Trojan Nuclear Plant. The amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application dated December 28, 1979, as supplemented June 19, 1980 and March 23, 1981.

The amendment corrects the testing requirement of the diesel fuel transfer pumps and revises the amount of borated water required to be available in the cold shutdown and refueling modes.

You will note that this amendment addresses two items contained in your request. The other items have been dealt with in amendments associated with Fire Protection and TMI-2 Lessons Learned Category A Specifications. The issuance of this amendment therefore completes Commission action on License Change Application 57 and its supplements.

Copies of the Safety Evaluation and the Notice of Issuance are also enclosed.

Sincerely,

.3 6
