Mr. J. P. O'Reilly Inspection Reports 50-321/81-02 50-366/81-02 Gentlemen:
The following information is submitted in response to Inspection Report 81-02, concerning the. inspection by Mr. J. J. Lenahan on January 27-30, 1981.
Violation:
10 CFR 50, Criterion XII, as implemented by Paragraph D.9.12 of the Unit 1 FSAR and Paragraph 17.2.12 of the Unit 2 FSAR, requires, " Measures shall be established to assure that tools, gages, instrumente and other l
measuring and testing devicos used in activities affecting qtelity are properly controlled, calibrated, and adjusted at specified periods to maintain accuracy within necessary limits."
Contrary to the above, no measures have been established for control and l
calibration of the Karol-Warner Model 1000 RP proving ring used in perfor-mance of unconfined compression tests on the K-Krete backfill at the intake structure.
This is a Severity Level ~V Violation.
Admission or denial of the alleged violation:
The violation occurred as stated.
Reasons for the violation:

be satisfactory.

t on March 29, 1981, the vendor supplied to Georgia Power (a) a calibra-tion sticker indicating the calibration data for the equipment, date of calibration and name of calibrator and (b) a signed calibration curve.
Corrective steps which will be taken:
Actions taken to date constitute sufficient corrective action. No further actions are necessary.
