The application for amndment dated May 26, 1967, as supplemnted May 29, a.

August 15, November 10, and December 14, 1967, complies with the require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amnded, and the Commission's regulations set forth in Title 10, Chapter 1, CFR; b.

There is reasonable assurance (i) that the reactor can be operated in accordance with the license, as amended, without endangering, the health and safety of the public, and (ii) that such activities will be conducted in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Commission; The issuance of this ameniment will not be inimical to the conmon defense c.

Prior public notice of proposed issuance of this amendment is not required since the arreniTent does not involve significant hazards considerations different from those previously evaluated; Operating License 16. DPR-6, as amended, issued to Consumers Power Company for operation of its Big ikx:k Point Nuclear Plant ("the reactor") located in Charlevoix Ccunty, Michigan, is hereby further amended by adding the following subparagraph g to Paragraph 2:

To receive, possess and use at any one time 500 kilograms of source nuterial in the form of depleted uranium dioxide contained in reactor fuel assemblies pursuant to the Act and Title 10, CFR, Chapter 1, Part 40, " Licensing of Source Material".

This amniTent is effective as of the date of issuance.
