Dear Mr. Denton:

In response to Mr. Hulbert Li's question regarding justification for all deviations to the Westinghouse topical report WCAP-8584, Appendix B and C, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company, acting for itself and agent for South Carolina Public Service Authority, provides forty-five (45) copies of the following information:

There is no deviation in respect to the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station of the requirenents of WCAP-8584. These requirenents are provided la nore detail in Appendix B and C of Revision 1 of WCAP-8584 dated February 1980.

Appendix B deals with independence of redundant safety-related systems.

This requirement is addressed in subsection 7.1.2.2 of the FSAR. Appendix C deals with requirements concerning isolation, power supply, turbine l

driven auxiliary feedwater pump startup on loss of voltage to emergency electric power buses, and environmental con-siderations.

Isolation considerations are addressed in d

subsection 7.2.2.2.3.7; electric power supply requirements are addressed in subsection 7.6.1 and Chapter 8; turbiac driven feedwater pump start is considered in subsection 7.3.2.3 and Chapter 10.4.9; and environmental and seismic qualification requirements are addressed in subsection 3.10 and 3.11.
