FIRST INTERIM REFDET Description of Deficiency B&W's ceasurement errors assu=ed in determining reactor protection syste=

setroints may be nonconservative under specific plant conditions. These errors may allow operation cutside the established safety limits in certain design basis events.

The events of concern are: small evercooling and small steam line break; large . *am line break in containment; and the rod ejection accident.

Interim Progress TVA has requested that b&W address the sub'ect deficiency and provide a resolution. TVA is awaiting B&W's response.
