7590-01 go UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-321 GEORGI A POWER COMPANY, ET AL.
NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF A11ENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued Amendment No. 80 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-57, issued to Georgia Potter Company, Oglethorpe Power Corporation, Municipal Electric Author'ty of Georgia, and City of Dalton, Georgia, which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, Unit No.1 (the facility) located in Appling County, Georgia.
This amendment was autiorized by phone on October 29, 1980..
It revises the Technical Specifications for the Service Water System.
This revision changes the operability requirements to reflect the availability of an alter-nate cooling water source to diesel generator' 1B. The amendment was issued on en expedited basis because the existing Technical Specifications (1) were dif-ferent for Hatch Unit No. 2, (2) did not specifically cover the situation at the Unit and (3) were overly restrictive in view of the lack of a safety issue.
The application for the amendment complies with the standards and require-ments of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amend'ed (the Act), and the Commis-sion's rules and regulations. The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.
Prior public notice of this amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
