Dear Mr. Denton:
As discussed with Mr. William Kane, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company acting for itself and as agent for South Carolina Public Service Author-ity, provides forty-five (45) copies of the following response regarding TMI Item II.F.1.
Additional justification will be provided for the present arrangement of the reactor building wide range monitor RMG-7 located in penetration 309. When submitted, we request that the NRC review this material for acceptability at the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station in order to satisfy the requirements of TMI Item II.F.1.
Should the staff after its review conclude that the arrangement is unacceptable, SCE&G commits to install inside the reactor building one addi-tional wide range monitor of the same type as existing monitor RMG-18 prior to fuel loading. Descriptions of these monitors are found in section 12.1.4.2 of the FSAR.
