Dear Sirs,
This letter is in response to your report, Reference 2, concerning 4
two deficiencies disclosed by your inspection of our Energency Planning.
Deficiency No. 1 Contrary to Technical Specification D.1 and items 5, 6, 7 and l
8 of OP-3304, EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT READINESS CHECK, the Emergency Kit at the North Adams Hospital had not been inventoried as required during the first, second or third quarters of 1975.

Response No. 1 The Health Physics Representative who performs the inventories l
and the Plant Health Physicist have been reminded of the necessity I
to quarterly confirm that the equipment at the Hospital is in place and in good condition.
Deficiency No. 2 Contrary to Technical Specification D.1 and item 3 of OP-3304, EMERGENCY EQUIPF.ENT READINESS CHECK, all sixteen (16) respirator aerosol cannisters contained -in the kits pr6 pared for use by

monitoring team personnel were one month beyond the manufacturer's designated usage expiration date.

The Health Physics Representative who performs the inventory has been instructed to replace all cannisters that will be out of date before the next scheduled inventory.
