Report for LUR 50-366/1981-011 r

On 2 81,' ui th the unit in cold shutdown a ponctration fire barrier survey was being performed.

During this survey it was discovered that a nonrated window existed in a three hout rated f)rc wall.

Because the window was not rated the integ-rity of the fire barrier was breached.

Tech Specs 3/4.7.7 to be functional at all requires all penetration fire barricts health and. safety of the times.

This event did not affect the public.

The proximate cause has been attributed to design, manuf actur-ing, construction / installation error.

A nonrated window had been installed in a three hour fire wall.

DCR ll81-48 has been submitted to correct this probicm, and a fire watch has been established until the situation can be corrected.

This prob-lem will be corrected as soon as materials are available.
