ENCLOSURE 2 SEQUOYA!I flUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 DESCRIPTION AND JUSTIFICATION FOR PROPOSED CHAllGES TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Description of Change The proposed change deletes the channel functional test requirementa related to instrument controls not set in operate mode from Technical Specif1catica 3 3 3.9 (Table 4.3-8 notations 1 & 2) and 3 3 3.10 (Table 4.3-9 notations 1 & 2). The revised technical specifications should read as shown on Enclosure 1.

Justification for Change Design of the radiation monitoring system does not allow the channels to be set in any mode other than the operate mode. The control switch is spring returned to the operate position. This design feature is checked in the channel functional test.
