Dear Mr. Reid:

Under separate cover, we are transmitting three (3) original and forty (40) conformed copies of an application for Amendment to Facility Operating License No. NPF-3 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.

This application requests that the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1 Technical Specifications, Appendix A, be revised to reflect the changes attached. The proposed changes involve Section 4.5.2.d.2 and Tables 3.3-3, 3.3-5 and 4-3.2.

The Technical Specification changes submitted herein are to provide consistency in terminology between the Technical Specific-ations and plant design and to ensure adequate surveillance requirements.

This amendment request originates from additional information required by the staff in Amendment 36 dated January 24, 1981 (Log No. 651).

This does not constitute a new amendment request but a consistency in terminology requested by the NRC to complete Amendment 36, therefore, no fee is incurred.
