Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
The referenced letter informed you of a significant safety hazard involving the centrifugal charging pumps of V. C. Summer Nuclear Station and co=mitted to informing you of our final decision. Accordingly, South Carolina Electric & Gas Company has accepted Westinghouse's recommended Interin Modification II as indicated in the attachments to the referenced letter.
Westinghouse is performing additional plant specific analysis to I
determine a long term solution for this problem. We will inform you as to the results of this at alysis and our acceptance as it becomes available.
