Davidson Vice President - System Engineering and Construction Post Office Box 5000 Cleveland, OH 44101 Gentlemen: This refers to the routine inspection conducted by Dr. M. J. Oestmann of this office on August 19-21, 1980, of activities at Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2, authorized by Construction Permits No. CPPR-148 and No. CPPR-149 and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. B. Barkley and others of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection. The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and interviews with personnel. No items of noncompliance with hTC requirements were identified during the course of this irspection. Certain other activities, set forth in the enclosed Appendix A to this letter, appear to be a deviation from commitments which you have made in previous correspondence with the Commission. Please advise us in writing within twenty days of the corrective action you have taken or plan to take, showing the estimated date of completion with regard to this deviation. In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter, the enclosures, and your response to this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room, except as follows.
