Unit- l' operated 'at 375 MWe net throughout the period with two load reductions. : Load was reduced to 283 MWe net for six hours on October 11 for turbine stop valve testing and was reduced to 300 MWe net for six hours on October 23 at the request of Power Supply.

Unit 1 operated its 33 billionth kilowatt hour on October 30.

Two 30-day licensee event reports were filed during the period. The first, Licensee Event Report No. 80-Oll/03L-0, clarified-the testing requirements for the testing of the 836A&B_ valves (containment spray addition valves) for. both

  • units in accordance with the most restrictive requirements of ASaE Code Section XI or the Technical Specifications.

The Technical Specifications were judged the most restrictive and the testing was completed under those requirements. The report was-filed as a violation of Technical Specification 15.4.5.II.B.2. The second licensee event' report, Licensee

Event Report No.. 80-012/03L-0, was issued for.a gaseous release from a waste ' gas vent header. through a loose compression fitting on.the inlet to the pressure regulating valve. The release was insignificant (less than .0001% of the Technical Specification release limit) but was reportable as an abnormal degradation of the waste gas system in accordance with Technical Specification 15.6.9.2.B.2.

No major safety-related maintenance was performed during the period.

Fay Telephone 414/277-2811 Unit 2 operated at 495 NWe net throughout the period with five load reductions. Lead was reduced to 470 MWe net for three hours on October 2 at the request of Power Supply; reduced to 490 MWe net for two hours on October 4 at the request of Power Supply; reduced to 327 MWe net for six hours on October 6 for turbine stop valve testings; reduced to 350 MWe net for five hours on October 9 at the request of Power Supply; and reduced to 450 MWe net for three hours on October 26 at the request of Power Supply.

Safety-related maintenance performed during the period consisted of replacement of the DC motor for the "C" charging pump and the annual 4D Diesel generator inspection and overhaul.
