Dear Mr. Keppler:
Re ference (b) was written in response to Reference (a) con-corning unlocked and unattended high radiation doors at Dresden Station.
This letter will supplcment our response since, upon further review, it has boon decided to change the high radiation door locking mechanisms as follows:
The majority of Dresden's "High Radiation Areas" have door locking mechanisms that allow the doors to be closed in the unlocked position.
Maintenance requests have,been initiated to change the locking mechanisms on all such/ doors so that they may not be left closed in the unlocked position.
The lochs on doors to frequently used "High Radiation Areas" will be changed by April 10, 1977.
The locks on doors to other less frequently used "High Radiation Areas" will be changed as soon as practical with a completion target of December 1977.
The list of doors to the frequently used "High Radiation Areas" will include the Unit 2 moisture separator room, the Unit 2 high pressure heater /X area, and the Unit 2 turbine pipeway.
