Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. Fishbaugher on October 16
and 20, 1972, of activities at Dresden Unit 1 authorized by AEC Operating
License No. DPR-2, and to the discussion of our findings held by the
inspector with Mr. W. Worden and members of his staff at the conclusion
of the inspection. A copy of our report of this inspection is enclosed.
Areas examined during the inspection are described in the enclosed inspec-
tion report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
exanination of procedures and representative records, interviews with
-
plant personnel, and observations by the inspector.
No items of noncompliance with AEC requirements were identified within
the scope of this inspection.
We understand from discussions with your site management that prior to
resumption of operation of the Unit 1 reactor, you plan to complete the
installation work, preoperational testing and appropriate procedural
preparations associated with the core spray system. We will examine
your actions on these matters during a future inspection.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the AEC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the
,
enclosed inspection report will be placed in the AEC's Public Document
Room. If this report contains aoy information that you (or your contrac-
tors) believe to be proprietary, it is necessary that you make a written
application within 20 days to this office to withhold such information
