Identification of Occurrence:

Biomass of fish and shellfish impinged on the intake screens of Units 1, 2 and 3 exceeded the 50 kg/24hr reporting level of Section' 3.1.3 of the Environmental Technical Specifications.

r Unit #1 - All water circulation pumps operational.
Unit #2 - One of four water circulation pumps non-operational

Description of Occurrence:
4 During the period 0900 August 30, 1977 to 0900 August 31, 1977 57.79 kg of fish and shellfish were impinged on the intake screens of Crystal River Units 1, 2 and 3.
Of the 57.79 kg,
impinged, Unit 3 accounted for 31.49 kg (54% of total-). One' consnercially unimportant species, the batfish, accounted for 2
21.49 kg (37% of total). Two commercially utilized specieh, the pink shrimp and the blue crab accounted for 29.35 kg (51% of total)
Impingement of all other commercially utilized l
species was less than 1 kg during the period in question. The remaining biomass impinged was distributed among several species i
of fish and shellfish.

No unusual or periodic events were noted prior to or during the occurrence.
