O APPENDIX A NOTICE OF VIOLATION Carolina Power and Light Company License Nos. DPR-71 Brunswick 1 and 2 DPR-62 Based on - RC inspection October 20-24, 1980, certain of your activities were apparently not conducted in full compliance with NRC requirements as indicated below.
These items have been categorized as described in correspondence to you dated December 31, 1974.
A.
As required by Technical Specification 6.8.1, written procedures shall be established, implemented and maintained covering: the applicable procedures recommended in Appendix A of Regulatory Guide 1.33 November, 1972; and surveillance and test activities of safety related equipment.
Contrary to the above, 1.
On October 21, 1980, the chemistry analytical balances were not included in a calibration program as required by Chapter 6, Calibration Control, of the Corporate Quality Assurance Manual.

Annual efficiency curves were not run during the period of January, 1978 to September,1980 as required by RCT Procedure 2201.
This is an infraction.
B.
As required by Environmental Technical Specification 3.5.2e Appendix B, sampling and analysis of radioactive material in gaseous waste, particulate form and radioiodine shall be performed in accordance with Table 3.5-2 which specifies t. hat particulate radioactivity shall be sampled and analyzed weekly at all environmental release points.

analysis of airbo:ne particulate radioactivity was inadequate in that up to forty percent of the total particulate activity in samples from reactor building roof vec:s (environmental release points) was not identified.
