Dear Mr. Lee:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has evaluated your request for an extension of the 20-day inspection requirement set forth in IE Bulletin 75-01 as it relates to the Dresden Station, Unit 1 facility. This evaluation was based on the infomation contained in your January 31,

1975 letter to Mr. Case and on the supplemental information supplied by you on February 5, 7 and 14 in response to discussions with members of the NRC staff.

Based on our evaluation of the aforementioned information and specifically on the need for power in the area of the Dresden Station and the City of Joliet to minimize a low voltage condition, your request, as modifien during our discussions, is hereby granted. You should perform the required inspections stated in IE Bulletin 75-01, as appropriate, when

your Will County coal-fired Unit No. 3 is returned to service on March 16, 1975. The tests required by IE Bulletin 75-01 should then be completed as soon as practicable.
