Environmental Qualification of Electrical Equipment Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Generating Station This letter transmits an order which requires inforn:ation to support the environmental qualification of safety related electrical equipment at Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Generating Station.

The Cormission's Memorandum and Order of May 23, 1980 addreses safety related electrical equipment egosed to a harsh environmnt, inside or outside containment, resulting from an accident. Tha Order requires that all such equipment in operating reactors be fully qualified by June 30,1982.

.f To coglete this objective, you are required to submit, by November 1, 1980, all information to support a safety evaluation of the aforemen-tiened equipment. If your facility had an established comitment date before November 1,1980, it is fully egected that your submittal will be not later than that comeitment date.

If your facility's comitment 1

date is past without a complete submittal, it is strongly recormended that actions be agedited since they have alrea@ impacted the staff j

review schedule.

Briefings were held with all interested licensees during the week of July 17,1980. Enforcement actions relative to this Order were dis-cussed during these briefings.
