With no fire alarms present, an operator was directed to shut down the diesel. At 1757 hours0.0203 days <br />0.488 hours <br />0.00291 weeks <br />6.685385e-4 months <br />, the operator reported to the Shift Supervisor

that the diesel fire pump was running at below the rated RPM and pressure. The pump was shut down and the temporary fire pump was tested because the motor-driven fire pump was out of service. The fuel oil was sampled for water and none was found. The fuel oil filter was changed. The diesel was started up and tested satisfactorily at 2038 hours0.0236 days <br />0.566 hours <br />0.00337 weeks <br />7.75459e-4 months <br />.

The plant motor-driven fire pump is presently out of service; however, a temporary fire pump is hooked up for service and it is felt that degradation to the system is minimized because of this backup pump.
