Gentlemen:
We have received a copy of your July 21 (Serial 633) and August 4,1980 (Serial 640) letters and attachments which were filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Reg laticn (CllRR). These submittals provioed information regarding the Davis Besse Unit No. 1 reactor coolant system flow indica-tion as required by condition 2.C(3)(e) of Licease No. NPF-3.

It is our understanding that these submittals will require ONRR review r
for acceptability and approval. Although you indicate that the NRC staff has identified to your Company an acceptable method of compliance l
i with a similar license condition on another facility, the ONRR review staff has determined that the above submittals for the Davis-Besse facility involve consideration of a single safety issue.
On this basis, a Class III_ fee of $4,000 pursuant to 10 CFR 170.12(c) and 170.22 is requested and should be remitted to our office.
If the final review of your submittals by the ONRR staff indicates that this fee is incorrect, an adjustment will be made.
