SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-369/89-36 AND 50-310/89-36
This refers to the Nuclear Reguletory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted by
S. S. Adamovitz on October 23-27, 1989.
The inspection included a review of
activities authorized for your McGuire facility.
At the conclusion of the
inspection, the findings were discussed with those rnembers of your staff
identified in the enclosed inspection report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and- representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
activities in progress. The inspector alsn conducted independent measurements,
in the Region I Mobile- Laboratory at your site, to verify your capability for
analyzing radioactive effluents and to establish and maintain standardized
methodology amang regulated facilities at the NRC.
The enclosed inspeci; ion reports documents an oral comitment (see Paragraph 7)
made by a licensee represer.tative and discussed in the exit interview.
If your
understanding of this commitment differs from the report statements. please

inform this office promptly.

The enclosed inspection report identifies activities that appeared to violate
NRC requirements but are not cited; therefore, no response is required.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2
