GRAND GULF NUCLEAR STATION (GGNS) UNIT 1. RESPONSE TO GENERIC LETTER 89-04 (TACNO.74768)
. By letter dated October 3,1989, System Energy Resources, Inc. (the licensee)'
requested an extension to the scheduled date for completion of certain actions requested in Generic Letter 89-04 "Guiunce on Developing Acceptable Inservice Testing Programs." Your letter requested extension of the date
.for a completion of these actions from October 3, 1989 to May-18, 1990.

'The staff has evaluated this request and concludes (1) that the work ~ effort on responding to Generic Letter 89 04 to date has been satisfactory based ondescriptionofactions'completedtodateand(2)thattheproposedwork l
effort for completing requested actions justifies a delay of the submittal of the-confirmation letter until May 18, 1990.
Accordingly, a schedular extension to May 18, 1990 is approved for the.
completion of. actions requested in Generic Letter 89-04, including submittal
- of the confirmation letter. The GGNS Unit 1 Inservice Testing Program relief requestsLcurrently submitted are hereby approved provided the confirmation
