This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. B. L. Bartlett,.M. E. Skow,-
and D. V. Pickett of this office during the period October 1-31, 1989,' of
activities authorized by NRC Operating License No. NPF-42 for the Wolf Creek.
Generating Station, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. J. A. Bailey
and members of your' staff at the conclusion-of-the inspection,

Areas examined.during the inspection included plant status, operational safety
l
verification, engineered safety features walkdown,' monthly. surveillance
+
observation, monthly maintenance observation, and followup of written reports
R
-of nonroutine events. Within'these areas, the inspection consisted of
selective examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and-observations by the NRC' inspectors.
The inspection findings are

with Section V. A of the NRC's Enforcement Policy, no citation'is being issued-
for another violation described in paragraph 6 of the enclosed inspection
report.
