Requalification Schedule Gentlemen:
South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) requests an exemption under 10CFR55.11 in order to extend the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station (VCSNS)

annual requalification examination and 24 month requalification cycle-dates.
approximately 12 weeks past the limits specified by 10CFR55.59(a). Currently annual requalification testing is required by March-1990 and the 24 month requalification cycle ends in March 1991.- SCE&G is requesting an extension of the schedule to,May 1990 for the annual examination and May 1991.for the 24-month cycle. This extension will align VCSNS with the new NRC national examination schedule. This one-time exemption will result in a permanent adjustment to the 24 month requalification cycle. Attached is a copy of the i
1 schedule proposed in the SCE&G response to Ger.eric Letter 89-12. No adverse impact is expected as a result of this schedule extension.
