00CKET N0. 50-334 AUG 211980 Duquesne Light Company Attn: Mr. C. N. Dunn, Vice President Operations Division 435 Sixth Avenue Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15219 Gentlemen:

We have received a copy of your application dated May 14, 1980,for amendment of License No. OPR-66 which you filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation for review. The apolication involves several changes to the Beaver Valley Power Station Unit No.1 Technical Specifications and was accompanied by a Class IV amendment fee of $12,300.

Based on information provided to us by the ONRR staff as a result of a preliminary review of your application, it has been determined that:

1.

the Appendix I changes and those changes identified as items (2) through (7) of the first paragraph of your application are each considered to involve a single safety or other issue and, as such, qualify for a Class IV fee (several changes of the Class III type),

and 2.

the changes identified as items (1) and (8) of the application are each considered to be administrative in nature and thus qualify as a Class II fee.

On the basis of the above, your May 14 application involves Class IV and Class II fees. Therefore, it is requested that your Company promptly remit a Class II fee of $1,200 to this office.

If the final review of your application by the ONRR staff reveals that these fees are incorrect, an adjustment will be made.

Sincerely,

,g d O
